"Celebrate the second anniversary of #SmashBrosUltimate with the three-day spirit event "SSB Ultimate is Two Years Old!", now on!" the tweet reads.

"EXP and SP earned after battle during this event will be tripled, and you'll get the Rematch item."

Expect plenty of players to log in for the event in order to earn bonus EXP and SP, and earn the Rematch item.

With The Game Awards next week, it could be a great time to reacquaint ourselves with the huge Smash Bros Ultimate roster before a potential announcement.

While no new characters were announced last year, the 2018 awards revealed Joker from Persona 5 would be joining the fray.

With Byleth, Min Min and Minecraft's Steve having joined the lineup, the next character is a mystery for now.
