Iconic rapper T-Pain is working on Rockstar’s GTA 6, but his work on the upcoming open world game means he can’t continue playing the ongoing multiplayer version of Grand Theft Auto V.
T-Pain, also known as Faheem Rashad Najm, revealed that he is currently working on the new GTA game in an unspecified role. The singer/songwriter also revealed that Rockstar has asked him to not play the prior game anymore due to his involvement.
The rapper revealed that Rockstar specifically asked him to stop playing on NoPixel, a third-party role-play server that Rockstar doesn’t condone. Fans have also noticed that the songwriter’s account has also been removed from the roleplay server following his statement.
"I used to be on NoPixel, then I started working on GTA VI,” T-Pain told his fans. “They told me I couldn't do RP anymore because it kind of goes against... they had this whole speech, like, 'What if somebody took your album and re-recorded it, and more people were listening to that,' and I'm like, 'Okay, I kind of get that, but I was having a good time. Alright that's fine.’”
T-Pain continued to discuss the fact that Rockstar has hired developers who created the role play server. However, he still isn’t allow to engage with third-party role play servers.
“I started working on the game with them and then they teamed up with the people that make the RP sh*t,” T-Pain said. “I'm like, 'Wait a minute, what? What the f**ck?...Y'all tell me I can't do this sh*t and then you team up with the people that enable the RP?’”
The rapper has been an active part of the NoPixel Role Play community for almost three years at the time of writing. Fans of the musician have flocked to the server to spend time with his character, but now they won’t be able to engage with the rapper. Well, at least until the GTA 6 release date comes around.
T-Pain’s GTA 6 character wasn’t included in the game’s first trailer last December, or in the extensive Grand Theft Auto leaks earlier in 2023. While the rapper is more than likely part of the single player campaign, they could be a multiplayer only character for the massively expanded GTA Online mode.
