With the Switch 2, Nintendo has entered the tenth generation of gaming, which is great news for its many first-party series. The system will become a home where popular names such as Mario and The Legend of Zelda can develop new titles that utilize its stronger hardware, giving them better opportunities to grow further and show why they're so beloved.
However, one has to remember that aside from the more recognized ones, there are many others that are just as amazing but have unfortunately fallen into obscurity or weren't given enough chances to showcase their potential. Nintendo can shine the spotlight on these overlooked and forgotten Nintendo franchises and series by allowing them to have games on the Switch 2, giving them a breath of new life and a way to attract more fans towards them and the console. As for which ones should be given such an honor, a few names come to mind.
1. Star Fox

Star Fox was once beloved by many, but as it grew, it seemed to take questionable directions that didn't exactly sit well with fans. By giving it a new game on the Switch 2, it may just be able to regain its former glory as one of Nintendo's best space combat series.
The system can also provide Star Fox a chance to return to its roots as a rail shooter and aid fans in forgetting about the less desirable and damaging entries, such as Star Fox Zero, which is something that longtime veterans and even newcomers can look forward to.
2. F-Zero

Among the multitude of Nintendo series, F-Zero is the one that many fans have been waiting for to provide a new game, and with good reason. Its entries, such as F-Zero GX, gave many some of the best racing gameplay due to their intense speed and intricate track design, which no other competitor has come close to replicating.
The popularity of F-Zero 99 showed that the series still holds a special place in people's hearts. which means that if it were to release a game on the Switch 2, it would likely be received with open arms. The system's powerful hardware also means that a future entry could have even crazier and much faster gameplay, opening up interesting possibilities that many can look forward to.
3. Earthbound

As weird as it was, there's no denying that the Earthbound series was a unique and refreshing take on the role-playing genre. It had many interesting ideas and more engaging gameplay compared to its competitors, making it one of Nintendo's cult classics. However, even as great as it was, it also contained issues that can prevent modern gamers from enjoying it should they desire to play any of its games now.
Such a thing can be fixed by allowing the series to have an entry on the Switch 2. A new game on the system could circumvent the problems, such as the limited inventory space, that prevented people from wanting to play the previous entries, allowing for a great and modern way of introducing everyone to the weirdness of Earthbound.
4. Advance Wars

While the series did have recent entries in the form of Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp, they were only remakes that tried to recapture the essence of the originals, but somewhat failed in doing so. Nintendo has something special with Advance Wars, and it would be a shame for the company to squander what made its take on the tactical turn-based genre so great.
Which is a good reason for the series to have an entry on the Switch 2. A new game on the system could allow for even grander gameplay than that of its predecessors, which means battles with larger scales, a continuation of the intriguing narrative that many enjoyed, and other additions and improvements that longtime fans and even newcomers can get excited over.
5. Wario Land

Wario is certainly one of the more unique and greedy characters in the Mario universe, and he's also responsible for providing some of the best and visually bizarre platformers, specifically via his Wario Land series. It has been years since the last mainline entry, that being Wario Land: Shake It! on the Nintendo Wii, and given its poor sales, it's no surprise that there hasn't been a new game since.
However, that doesn't mean the series doesn't deserve a comeback, as it still has a lot of untapped potential. Allowing it to have a home on the Nintendo Switch 2 is all it takes, as the system could help it go even further in its uncanny take on the platforming genre, and remind everyone that the worlds Wario journeys through can be just as fun and amazing as those of his more popular nemesis, Mario.
If the Nintendo Switch 2 is going to give any series or franchises another opportunity in the spotlight, then none are more deserving than the ones mentioned. If they're given the chance to introduce new games, not only would it be great in boosting the tenth-generation console's success, but it may even mean a new era of gaming that's better than the previous ones.
