Dragon Ball: The Breakers Won’t Have Cross-Play or Cross-Progression Anytime Soon

Dragon Ball: The Breakers is one of the franchise's more interesting games, with Bandai Namco skipping the arena fighter formula and going for a Dead by Daylight-inspired multiplayer horror game. That's excited fans, so you may be disappointed to know that, for now at least, Dragon Ball: The Breakers won't support cross-play or cross-progression.

Speaking with Siliconera, Producer Ryosuke Hara was asked if Dragon Ball: The Breakers would have cross-platform features, with Hara “There is no plan to support cross-platform and cross-save at the moment.” It’s worth noting that other popular Dragon Ball games like Xenoverse 2 and FighterZ don't support cross-play either.

Dragon Ball: The Breakers Won’t Have Cross-Play or Cross-Progression Anytime Soon

Considering how Hara said there's no plans “at the moment,” there's a small possibility that cross-play or cross-progression could come to Dragon Ball: The Breakers in the future with post-launch support. However, fans shouldn’t expect these features at launch.

Dragon Ball: The Breakers sees players trying to survive and escape against some of Dragon Ball’s most infamous villains, like Cell, Frieza, and Majin Buu. You'll be playing as some of the series' weaker characters, rather than fighting against them as a Super Saiyan like Goku or Vegeta.

Dragon Ball: The Breakers is slated for a 2022 release, launching on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
