It was back in 2023 when Bethesda gave audiences a first look at their upcoming Blade game, but it’s already the latter half of 2024, and there hasn’t been any major update.

Thanks to some concept art from Arkane Studios though, there’s a new look at the video game Blade and what could be his main appearance.

Concept Art Shows Off Arkane Studios’ Blade

Arkane has just recently celebrated its 25th Anniversary, and they released some concept art that features different Arkane characters and Blade looming in the background. Check this out:

Though there was no major update on Blade—besides it’s the project that the studio is working on, co-creative director Sebastien Mitton does have a message about the game and their promise to ‘Arkanites’ moving forward. He says:

“And now, as we head into the future with Marvel’s Blade, I'm damn proud and excited to explore uncharted dimensions of our art.

Today we’re not just celebrating our proud history, but also making a promise to our players that we’ll continue to push the boundaries of innovation and creativity. Thank you to each and every Arkanite, here and abroad, past and present, for your passion, dedication and talent… Together, with a mutual trust within the studio and with our players and fans, we've built something really cool and I know the best adventures are yet to come. Let's keep exploring, creating, and inspiring!”

Though there hasn't been any teaser or update on when fans will be able to get a look at the gameplay, this recent announcement does make some hopeful that Arkane is ready to reveal Blade officially sometime soon.

What are the odds it's going to be during the upcoming Game Awards again?

The First Blade Reveal

Fans’ first look at the Blade game was from 10 months ago during The Game Awards, and though it didn’t feature any gameplay, it did give fans a look at the stylized aesthetic that the game was going for. Check this out:

Based on the official description of the game, Blade is going to be set in the heart of Paris and is going to be a single-player, third-person game. Though there hasn’t been a look at gameplay, it’s very likely that the game could be embracing elements from Dishonored and Deathloop that made those games unique—specifically the arsenal of weapons that players get to have access to.

With Blade being known for having a James Bond-level of Vampire hunting gadgets, it should be no surprise that the game would want to capitalize on that and give players the option of taking out vampires with an arsenal of swords and throwing knives.

Blade is Ready for a Mainstream Comeback

Admittedly, the Blade franchise has been having a hard time getting back off the ground. Sure those movies defined the early 2000s, but the movie that Marvel announced back in 2019 has been having trouble moving forward, losing directors left and right.

With Blade’s recent appearance in mainstream releases like Midnight Suns and Deadpool and Wolverine, maybe the Daywalker is ready for his time in the sun again. Hopefully, the release of the game should urge Marvel Studios to push faster with their movie.

Blade has no release date yet, but it’s possible that the game could be aiming for a release sometime in 2025.
