  • The company reveals that they're finally testing builds of The Elder Scrolls 6
  • Don't expect a release date anytime soon

The Elder Scrolls 6 was announced back in 2018 and we’re finally getting an update on this RPG after literal years of waiting and fan theories. Bethesda mentioned the new entry as part of the series’ 30th birthday, where they not only brought up the game being alive but testing it as well.

On Twitter, Bethesda thanks fans for supporting this franchise for 30 years. It really is surprising to see how long the series has lasted since its first entry, with each installment being someone’s favorite. Skyrim also deserves to be mentioned, since that game has been re-released on pretty much every system out there, even getting the new Anniversary Edition a few years ago.

After discussing the various games in the series, Bethesda finally brought up how they are actively working on The Elder Scrolls 6 now. It’s not a lot, but the company actually confirmed playing early builds of the game, which is the biggest update we’ve gotten thus far. Yes, Bethesda really did announce that game too early and they know it.

“Last but not least, yes, we are in development on the next chapter - The Elder Scrolls 6,” Bethesda said. “Even now, returning to Tamriel and playing early builds has us filled with the same joy, excitement, and promise of adventure. Thank you again for supporting us all these decades, and all you have brought to the games, making them your own. We couldn’t be more excited to continue it and celebrate the next 30 years.”

Bethesda seemingly knew that they shot themselves in the foot announcing the sixth entry in 2018, as the company was focused on Starfield. We didn’t get Starfield for six years and that RPG is either really good or boring, depending on who you ask. At the least, it should keep players busy until Bethesda finally releases the game everyone’s been waiting for.

The Elder Scrolls 6 was announced back in 2018 and won’t be coming out anytime soon. In the meantime, fans can play Starfield or Skyrim.
