Breakdown

  • The Finals is removing Recon Senses for Season 2
  • Recon Senses let players see their enemies through walls
  • Fans are overjoyed by the news

The Finals continues to have a huge presence in gaming, but that doesn’t mean fans think this multiplayer shooter is 100% perfect. It seems that the devs at Embark Studios are listening to fan feedback, with reports saying that Recon Senses will soon be removed from the game.

According to The Finals Intel on Twitter, Embark will be removing the Recon Senses feature soon, probably around Season 2. While this hasn’t been officially confirmed, fans everywhere seem to be overjoyed, as many of them always found the feature annoying.

For those unaware, Recon Senses allowed players to see their enemies through walls Batman Arkham Asylum-style in The Finals. Unlike other abilities in the game, Recon Sense lasted quite a bit and would often break sessions, as players could easily find where their opponents were.

On one hand, this does tighten up the game’s strategy, making sure that players don’t rely on this system for an advantage anymore. However, this did make games shorter and it’s not like this was a feature limited to one team per game. Since this is a live-service game, doing what the fans want is a good thing, even if it makes this shooter less unique as a result.

Embark has done its job of making the game better for fans before, even nerfing the game's aim assist after fans whined about it for weeks. Removing Recon Senses is another update fans will like and we’re interested in seeing if other features will be removed or added in the future.

Season 2 of The Finals is fast approaching, with many gamers excited to see what new features will be implemented in this shooter. As it stands, removing Recon Senses will make plenty of fans happy, since this will make upcoming game sessions a lot more fair. Fans can also expect to see some abilities balanced out in the game, alongside possible new characters and weapons that can be used.

The Finals is now available on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC as a free-to-play shooter.
