Despite the looming uncertainty over The International 10, the regional qualifiers for the DOTA 2 Championship are underway.
The first day of action from the Eastern European region in the regional qualifiers saw two teams having their hopes of TI10 crushed. However, the rest of the teams are looking extremely good with some menacing strategies being implemented in the games.
Here are the matches that took place during the first day of the Eastern European qualifiers for TI10.
Team Spirit vs Winstrike Team
Team Spirit put up a stellar performance to secure a 2-0 victory against Winstrike Team in the upper-bracket of the regional qualifiers. This allowed Team Spirit to move into the second round of the upper-bracket where they will face off against PuckChamp. Winstrike Team on the other hand will be facing off against Team Empire in the lower bracket to keep their hopes for TI10 alive.
PuckChamp vs Team Unique
Despite trying their best in both games, Team Unique lost 0-2 against PuckChamp in their opening match of the upper-bracket. This victory secured PuckChamp a spot against Team Spirit in the second round of the upper-bracket. Having said that, Team Unique finds themselves facing off against Danil "Dendi" Ishutin's B8 in the lower bracket.
Natus Vincere vs EXTREMUM
Natus Vincere asserted their dominance in a 2-0 victory over EXTREMUM to land themselves a spot in the second round of the upper-bracket. EXTREMUM on the other hand is facing off against Nemiga Gaming in the lower brackets for a shot at qualifying for TI10. Na'Vi will be facing off against an extremely powerful HellRaisers in their second-round series.
HellRaisers vs AS Monaco Gambit
The only series from the opening day of the Eastern European qualifiers that went to game three saw HellRaisers emerge victorious over AS Monaco Gambit. In what was a face-off between two giants of the CIS region, HellRaisers ensured that they progressed into the second round of the upper-bracket to play against Natus Vincere. AS Monaco Gambit will have to face off against Fantastic Five to keep their chances of qualifying for TI10 alive.
Nemiga Gaming vs Trident Clan
Nemiga Gaming secured a hard-fought 2-0 victory against Trident Clan to continue their run in the lower bracket. As Trident Clan finds their hopes for TI10 demolished, Nemiga Gaming will face off against EXTREMUM in their second-round series in the lower bracket.
NoTechies vs B8
NoTechies vs B8 was definitely one of the most hyped series of the Eastern European qualifiers. With Dendi's B8 facing off against Alexey "Solo" Berezin's NoTechies, the entire region watches as two of the fan-favorite veterans battled it out in the qualifiers. Unfortunately for Solo and NoTechies, their innovative strategies did not reap the desired results as B8 cruised to a 2-0 victory to continue their run in the lower bracket. B8 will be facing off against Team Unique in their series from the second round.
