A long-rumoured The Last of Us Part 2 PS5 port is seemingly set to be revealed at The Game Awards 2023. After a PS5 database entry of the upcoming Naughty Dog remaster was discovered, many have already assumed the game’s announcement date.

The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered is one of the worst-kept secrets in the games industry right now. Reported for the past two years now, the upcoming remaster has been leaked by a number of insiders, and even the game’s composer.

Just prior to the release of The Last of Us TV series, Naughty Dog released a full remake of the first game for PlayStation 5. Later ported to PC, the remake immediately saw many fans hope for a PS5 version of the series’ second game.

PlayStation Game Size, a Twitter account that tracks new additions to the PlayStation Store database, revealed that a Last of Us 2 PS5 port has been added. While not confirmed by Sony or Naughty Dog, the social media account has a strong track record of reporting accurate additions.

At the time of writing, The Last of Us 2 does have PlayStation 5 enhancements over its PlayStation 4 executable. However, a native PS5 addition would be able to push graphical features and frame rates above that of the current enhancements available on the system.

Alongside a new PlayStation 5 port of The Last of Us 2, Naughty Dog is reportedly still working on a multiplayer spin-off title in the series based on the first title’s Factions mode. Announced last year, the multiplayer spin-off has yet to be seen since its reveal.

While developers working on the project claim the multiplayer game is still in the works, it’s been claimed that the title is suffering from some major issues. Nevertheless, Naughty Dog’s multiplayer game is just one of a few projects at the studio.
