The Last of Us 2: Clickers are back, and more terrifying than ever

The Last of Us 2 finally launches on June 19, 2020 – meaning we're getting closer to reuniting with Joel and Ellie.

It isn't just our dynamic duo we'll be seeing though, as Clickers are making their, um, clicky return.

The Last of Us Part 2: Clickers Confirmed

For the (lucky) uninitiated, Clickers are humans that have been mutated by the virus, with their faces essentially turning into mushrooms.

If that sounds vaguely Mario-esque, then we assure you they aren't meant to be taken lightly. With no eyes, they rely entirely on sound to be able to locate their prey.

Clickers are definitely back for the sequel, while early preview coverage even suggested you'd be able to use Clickers to your advantage in some way.

There are multiple infected types in The Last of Us Part 2. Runners are aggressive and attack in numbers, while Stalkers sneak up on Ellie and strike from the shadows.

Alongside the Clickers, there are new Shamblers that are armoured and that release spore clouds, as well as another that hasn't been revealed yet.
