Yes, thank the Nintendo gods, there is a manual save option in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom.

Manual saving is the ideal way to guarantee a safety net should your next dungeon run/boss attempt go South. So, giving yourself some breathing room with a tactical save is always a good idea.

Here's how to save your progress:

  • Hit the pause button while in the game
  • Use L or R to move over to System
  • You will have five options
  • Choose the Save option

Saving is simple when you know how, and it is probably the best weapon at your disposal to conquer the game. There is an alternative and less recommended way to save progress as well.

The game also has an auto-save feature; now, if you are like me - I NEVER trust an auto-save. I get the fear and worry that I will lose progress. However, to trigger an auto-save in Echoes of Wisdom, enter a new area or leave the dungeon you are in. This will be displayed by a symbol on the screen that reads 'Saving...' to let you know that the game has bookmarked progress.

As someone who has lost progress in the past trusting this method, please make sure to perform a manual save right after the load screen before quitting the game, just in case.

You can also follow the method above to save the game when you want to reload a save and get out of a sticky situation. Just choose the load option instead of save and pick the file to give yourself another chance at tackling the boss/dungeon that you were stuck on.

That covers how to save the game in Echoes of Wisdom. Stick with Gfinity, check out some of our other guides for the game while you are here, and save the day with ease!
