If you want to escape this facility of the Murkoff Corporation, you will need to know how to get Release Tokens in The Outlast Trials. These are the most important items in this game, so it's no surprise that they're very difficult to obtain.
So, you have no choice but to do what the corporation wants you to do. As a reward for your accomplishments, you will receive Release Tokens that will help you free yourself!
How to get Release Tokens in The Outlast Trials
Release Tokens in The Outlast Trials are special rewards that you can get by completing tasks from the Murkoff program. The company keeps you as a patient, and you will have to go through all of the experiments in order to finally achieve freedom.
Basically, there are three different programs with multiple trials in each one. You will need to complete all of them to unlock the fourth Program X. Each completed trial of this program will reward you with a single Release Token.
What are Release Tokens in The Outlast Trials and why are they important?
Release Tokens are a special currency that you can earn by completing the Program X trials. If you manage to accumulate 10 of them, you will be able to give them to a certain NPC and open the way to the final trial. This is the end of the game, and you can complete it by beating this last challenge.

After that, your character will be reborn. It means that your Program X trials will be reset and you will be able to complete them one more time. Of course, you will keep all your resources and cosmetic items. In that sense, it's similar to the Prestige mechanic in Call of Duty.
So, as you can see, Release Tokens are really important, and the whole game revolves around them. Your main goal is to collect as many of them as possible, but since this is a live service game, don't expect a proper ending once you get them all. Good luck and don’t let various dangers get in your way and stop you from escaping!
