Summer is here, and as any good Sims player will tell you, now's the perfect time to start celebrating in-game. And as it turns out, Maxis agrees, having just released the perfect add-on: The Sims 4 Riviera Kit.
Riviera typically means an area of the coast, so it made sense that I tested this kit on all of the coastal land possible. So, with a metaphorical skip in my metaphorical step, I decided to head to Tartosa and see what the new kit had to offer me.
Befitting the Riviera title, a lot of the objects and items in this kit feel very coastal-based and, as such, have a Mediterranean vibe with a lot of neutral, sandy, or russet colors. With that in mind, it goes without saying that you can make a pretty nice swimming pool area on your residential lot. There's a nice lounger that has pretty decent swatches, which will compliment any pool, and you can even make it look a bit more regal and romantic with a rustic archway. Also stairs for your pool that are wooden and minimalist? Very cute.
But my favorite part about this kit is the serenity you can capture with more natural structures like the cute tree pot and the various rocks both on the landscape and on the ground.
Pair all these items with beautiful backdrops like Tartosa and you'll be happy. After all, this kit wants you to have a nice, beachy life, and I don't blame it. It's summer, and both you, and I, deserve it.
That being said, this kit is rather specific with its items. While you could argue that the waterfall and other natural structures could be used anywhere, items like the towel rack and side cart just aren't compelling enough to be used in most other places without standing out.
If you're into making a gorgeous beach house with a stylish pool, The Sims 4 Riviera Kit is perfect. Otherwise, there are a lot of other The Sims 4 expansions, packs, and kits that might suit you better.
