Check the table above to see our preliminary tier list of all the current MultiVersus characters. Since the game is now properly out, our rankings are based on a combination of in-game performance, pro-level opinions, and community feedback.

You'll notice that anyone who "mains" a certain character will claim that their placement (if low) just means they're underused or misunderstood. And that's fair. But another thing that weighs a character's placement is how hard they are to pick up and play.

If they're only good for the one percent of players who put in the time to learn their skillset, they don't deserve a high spot. Accessibility and usability are factored in just as much as power, support, and other key metrics, which is why Reindog is at the bottom despite few players bigging up the character's hidden skill.

Now, this one is a little difficult to explain. Like the tier list above, it uses a bunch of different metrics (power, skill, ease of use, support, combo, etc), but looks at how well two characters work together. We can't put every single pairing together purely because of how many possibilities there are, but we can rank some popular picks and have you fill in the rest.

Simply put, if a pairing is further at the bottom, the characters involved are just less likely to work well with any 2v2 situation. A lot of it will boil down to each player's skill, but you can only be as good as the characters can allow.

Who is the next MultiVersus character?

Announced officially on July 8th, 2024, Agent Smith from The Matrix is available now for MultiVersus.

Other characters that have been speculated to be making their way to MultiVersus are Ben 10 and Cartoon Network's best superhero girl group, The Powerpuff Girls.

Will there be more MultiVersus characters?

If the current roster doesn't include your favourite character from Warner Bros franchises, then worry not - new characters are on the way.

Some renowned leakers have pointed towards characters that'll come to MultiVersus at some point.

As per Hungrybox, Gandalf from Lord of the Rings is also set to be in the game, after early development screenshots leaked. That could be subject to change though, depending on whether plans or licenses have changed in the time since those leaks emerged.

Even if Gandalf doesn't come to MultiVersus, new characters are definitely on the way. Expect even more DC icons, Looney Tunes characters, and Cartoon Network classics.

In fact, the game's director recently posted a tweet all about how they're "working on a future character" and that "some cool stuff is in store." That's enough to suggest that more characters beyond the leaks are in development.
