The Leap Year Society Coins are scattered collectibles in Unknown 9: Awakening, often tucked away in the game's many environments.
Once part of a covert society focused on exploring mystical secrets, these coins are now forsaken in remote locations.
Finding all 24 coins requires a sharp eye and persistence, as they can blend into the surroundings easily.
Since many of these coins are hidden in hard-to-see places, it’s wise to unlock and use the Umbric Resonance skill.
This ability highlights collectibles in your vicinity, lighting them up so you don’t overlook them in dimly lit or cluttered environments.
Here’s a full rundown of all Leap Year Society coin locations:
Richat Structure (Coin 1)
Begin your search in the Richat Structure. You will eventually reach a campsite as you explore the ruins with Reika.
Here, you’ll find a crate with an explosive nearby. The coin is placed on top of this crate, easily missed if you don’t stop to look carefully.
Chamiri (Coin 2)
Once you go through the locked gate in the Chamiri chapter, you’ll find yourself in a space filled with various roads and buildings.
At the rear of a red building, look for a stone planter. The second coin is tucked away at the back edge of this planter, so be sure to inspect it closely.
Suknasari Forest (Coin 3)
Cross the natural bridge ahead once you climb down the vines and push through a tree.
After that, leap to the left side and continue along the path. The coin will be on a rock next to a skeleton clad in tattered clothing.
The Morning Star – Part I (Coins 4 & 5)
This chapter contains two hidden coins.
The first coin is located near some bottles in the lounge area, on the table of the upper left booth. You’ll spot it easily after heading up from the bridge.
The second coin is in the crew quarters. Go through the large doors into the first room on the left, where you’ll find the coin on a brown chest beside a bed.
Chamatkari Mandir (Coin 6)
Upon arriving at Chamatkari Mandir, take out the enemies defending the temple.
Once they're dealt with, head to the tent in the upper-right corner of the area. Inside, you’ll find the coin on a table beside some radios.
The Morning Star – Part II (Coin 7)
As you return to The Morning Star, trail behind Buchra until you reach Vincent’s office.
To the right of the room, you’ll see a small round table where the coin is resting on top.
Quinta Matos (Coins 8, 9 & 10)
In this chapter, you’ll find multiple coins:
- As you navigate the manor in Quinta Matos, head up to the second floor. After bypassing a Rusher, enter the bathroom in the first room you see. The coin can be found on a dresser beside the bathtub.
- Continue following Luther down the stairs but pause before the heavy red door. Instead, take a detour and climb the hill leading to the gazebo. You’ll discover the coin at the base of a statue within the gazebo.
Once you’ve cleared out the Ascendants in the graveyard, follow Luther through the locked gate. As you descend the large staircase, look for a table near a lit lamp at the bottom. The coin will be resting there.
Anatolia (Coins 11 to 18)
- Anatolia has a large concentration of coins hidden in various spots.
In Anatolia, where Anti-Stepping Devices are in operation, your first stop should be the initial generator. You’ll spot the coin next to a large spool of wire nearby. - After Luther assists you in lowering the drawbridge, make your way across it and climb the ridge on your right. The coin can be found nestled in a recess in the wall.
- In the next area, after you’ve fought some Ascendants, climb the ridge near the wooden structures. As you follow the path, you’ll come across a tunnel that leads into the wall. The coin is positioned at the end of this tunnel, close to an opening that leads to another area.
- After helping Luther in a battle, head toward the heavy red door and unlock it with his assistance. Once you’re through, immediately check the wall on your right. The coin is sitting inside an indentation.
- After slipping through a crack in the wall with Luther, take a left and climb the ridge near several pillars. In the elevated area at the corner, you’ll find the coin near an artifact and some vases.
- In an area filled with Ascendants, sneak through some grass toward an open window. Once inside, inspect the stone shelf next to you. You’ll find the coin resting there among some scattered papers.
- Search the area as you enter a spacious room featuring a central stone slab. The coin is on the edge of the slab, next to a Sahin tile.
- Once you and Luther move some rocks to squeeze underneath, climb over a small ridge. Before you go on, glance to your left and inspect a dirt pile. The coin will be partially buried within it.
Dasuden (Coins 19 to 21)
The coins in this area are generally hidden within caves.
- As you explore a cave in Dasuden, follow Buchra and take the path down to the left. You’ll soon come across a gap that you’ll need to jump over. After crawling under some rocks, you’ll see a skeleton leaning against the wall. The coin is tucked away inside the skeleton’s boot.
- Once you’ve taken care of the Ascendants by the bridge operation panel, you can enter a locked room near the stairs where the enemies originated. Inside, you’ll find the coin on a table next to a small radio.
- After rescuing Buchra and scaling a rock wall, make your way through a crack in the wall. You’ll see a stack of crates to your left as soon as you enter. The coin is resting on top of those crates.
Peshanden (Coins 22 to 24)
The last coins can be found deep within caves inhabited by Ascendants.
One coin is near railroad tracks and barrels, while another is tucked behind a doorway following a Gearhead battle.
The final coin is found near stacked crates and large pipes overhead at the end of a tunnel.
