Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands Wards Guide - Types and Perks
What Are Wards?
Wards are the Wonderlands equivalent of a Shield, only they're magic. You should try to pick up any Ward you can as soon as you start the game as they can protect you from any damage. That being said, if they take too much damage, the Ward will shatter. If this happens, you'll be exposed and vulnerable while you wait for it to recharge. As you spend more time exploring the realm, you're highly likely to find more varieties of Wards. This is when you can start to be picky as some types of Wards will be better suited to your playstyle than others.
The rarity of your Ward (Common all the way to Legendary) will determine the basic statistics of it. Essentially, the rarer your Ward, the more damage it can take before it breaks and the faster it will recharge after being shattered.

All Ward Types and Perks
There are three manufacturers in the Wonderlands that are responsible for making the Wards. If you have the storage capacity, it's worth collecting at least one Ward from all three creators. This is because each creator will put different perks and effects into their Wards.
Hyperius
Hyperius make Wards that encourage you to be careful and strategic in battle. If you manage to avoid sustaining any damage to your Ward, you will be rewarded. So far, the rewards we know about consist of giving you a helping hand in battle. For example, one reward consists of your Ward electrocuting the first enemy that manages to hit you.
Ashen
Ashen Wards recharge a lot faster than other Wards once they have been broken. They're pretty good for those of you who are confident in your abilities and like to be in the thick of it during a fight. However, if you're new to the game and Ward system, then it might be best to opt for a Hyperius Ward. This is because you make a stats trade-off: to get the fast recharge time, you significantly lower the Ward damage capacity.
Pangoblin
Pangoblin Wards have a high damage capacity, meaning you can throw yourself headfirst into hordes of enemies (though we don't recommend it). However, this is another Ward where you make a stats trade-off. To have a high damage capacity, you sacrifice having a quick re-charge. This means that if your Ward does get destroyed, it will take quite a long time to re-charge. If this happens, we recommend finding cover and hiding while it charges.
Picking up the right Ward for you will be a process of trial and error in Tiny Tina's Wonderlands. However, once you find a type that works for you, it will go a long way in helping you to achieve your quest.
