The best Warzone 2 landing spots

With so many diverse areas in Al Mazrah, finding the best places to drop is a tricky task. Various factors determine your preferred places to land. Do you want immediate action against other players or want some time to obtain loot and prepare for the opening fights? Are you a player who looks towards the endgame and is planning on where the final fight will take place?

After taking a closer look at the entirety of Al Mazrah, here are five areas of the map we recommend visiting at the start of a match.

Al Mazrah City

As one of the largest POIs on the entire map, Al Mazrah city features everything ranging from skyscrapers to abandoned highways perfect for using a vehicle to escape any sticky situations.

If you don't fancy landing in the middle of the city, the eastern outskirts are much quieter and contain plenty of buildings containing weapons, equipment, and those all-important armour plates.

Whether it's securing the high ground on top of a building or lurking on the outskirts to catch any late rotations, Al Mazrah City is the place to be at the start of a match.

Zaya Observatory

The middle of Al Mazrah is home to the Zaya Observatory. Containing a full remake of the Dome multiplayer map from Modern Warfare 3, this area of the Warzone 2 map is packed with vantage points overlooking the surrounding area.

The observatory buildings contain plenty of loot strong enough to score a few eliminations in the opening minutes of a match in addition to piles of cash you can spend at any nearby shops.

Zaya Observatory's location is the main selling point for landing here at the start of a match. Its central positioning allows you to move in almost any direction when the circle splits into three and if you've secured a sniper rifle, it's very easy to see anyone attempting to traverse any open areas.

Warzone 2 Airport POI

Al Malik Airport

Although the Al Malik Airport is the most southerly point of Al Mazrah, there's a high possibility of it becoming one of the more popular places to begin a Warzone 2 match. The pesky air traffic control tower is bound to contain a few crafty campers but the main attraction of this area is the airport terminal.

For fans of 2009's Modern Warfare 2, the terminal is an exact replica of the iconic multiplayer map and with numerous rooms to explore, there's a high chance of scoring some powerful loot quickly. As it's terminal, expect plenty of opposition.

Aside from the main terminal building, the surrounding parking areas and warehouses are a viable alternative if you don't want to dive into the main terminal without any loot capable of outgunning any opposition.

Ahkdar Village

Located between the Airport and the Observatory, Ahkdar Village is a great place to start your Warzone 2 match when thinking ahead to the latter stages of the game. Featuring a variety of buildings and open areas to explore, this particular POI will prove popular with players planning their next moves as soon as their feet hit the floor.

As with most built-up areas on Al Mazrah, most buildings contain a wide range of powerful early-game loot along with a shop where you can purchase your loadout or other useful items to gain the upper hand.

Although it's one of the smaller POIs, Akhdar Village is well-connected thanks to a network of dirt tracks and roads allowing vehicles to evade any unwanted attention with ease. Just remember to carry a spare gas can in case fuel runs out!

Warzone 2 Port POI

Hafid Port

The fifth and final place we recommend landing is Hafid Port Located on the west side of Al Mazrah, there's a possibility of it being one of the quieter areas at the start of a match. This gives you plenty of time to see what's on board the docked ship and explore the surrounding warehouses.

Climbing on top of the huge circular storage vats provides a great overview of the area but the lack of cover can leave you exposed to any gunfire so use them to scout the area instead of a fully-fledged camping spot.
