Throughout the first season of post-launch content, Warzone 2 players have experienced numerous bugs and glitches when dropping into the battle royale. Although Infinity Ward applied numerous fixes to a wealth of issues in the Season One Reloaded update, players continue to air their frustrations.
Whether you agree that the mid-season update is the worst in Call of Duty history or you’re enjoying Al Mazrah, there are still overpowered vehicles causing chaos and certain weapons dominating the meta despite a dose of buffs and nerfs.
When dropping into the action, a new Warzone 2 bug is causing AI combatants to float in mid-air and open fire on anyone freefalling through the skies.
Warzone 2 floating AI bug
Discovered by Reddit user “PeeinIan123,” players are spotting fully armed AI soldiers you’d normally find in a Stronghold while flying towards their chosen landing spot. The appearance of AI patrolling the skies follows a recent nerf to stop the bots from dealing huge damage to players.
While it’s an unusual sight in a Warzone 2 match, players dropping into DMZ on a regular basis say sky soldiers are a common sight. “In DMZ you see this all the time,” reports one commenter. “I think there’s some kind of bug with the helicopters that drop them off.” If that’s the case, keep your eyes on the skies whenever a chopper refills a Stronghold.
Despite the problems with floating AI, the current list of known issues on the Warzone 2 Trello has no mention of this particular issue much to the annoyance of players. Additionally, Infinity Ward had no knowledge of Ultimate perks not working as intended.
Although the Warzone 2 cycle is still in its early stages, it’s clear to see players are starting to lose patience. Is there a chance Warzone Caldera experiences a resurgence? We’ll have to wait and see.
