Has your favourite Warzone 2 mode disappeared with the latest playlist update? You're probably considering jumping into some Warzone 2 Massive Resurgence over the course of Season 3 Reloaded as you wait for your favourite mode to return.
Every week, Raven Software removes and adds a number of playlists to inject a breath of fresh air into Call of Duty's battle royale and just like the meta, the range of modes continues to evolve as the cycle progresses. Massive Resurgence plays similar to standard Resurgence but there are a few major differences that are worth knowing before dropping into Al Mazrah.

Warzone 2 Massive Resurgence mode explained
Massive Resurgence is a faster-paced version of the standard battle royale. The goal of becoming the last player standing remains the same but instead of having the gulag to fall back on, you can jump straight back into the fight thanks to the respawn mechanic that's usually seen in Call of Duty multiplayer.
In addition to the lack of gulag, scoring an elimination also reveals the location of any remaining members of the enemy squad that are still alive. The location only appears for a few seconds so make the most of the advantage while you can.
Warzone 2 Massive Resurgence rules
With plenty of differences between Massive Resurgence and standard battle royale, here's a closer look at the rules you need to know:
- Players respawn as long as a squadmate is still alive
- Respawning stops when the game reaches the fourth circle
- Massive Resurgence has an increased player count. At least 150 players will start a match
- All Al Mazrah Strongholds are disabled
- Ground loot weaponry always has attachments
- Blue Resurgence supply boxes restock every 90 seconds
How to reduce Warzone 2 Massive Resurgence timer
The Resurgence countdown timer can feel like an eternity in Massive Resurgence. Thankfully, there are a number of ways to reduce the length of the countdown clock:
- Complete contracts
- Open Resurgence supply boxes
- Score kills
- Take down enemies with headshots
- Score kills against the AI
- Move more than 25 metres when teammates are dead
- Capture a Data Heist objective
- Score a kill when a teammate is downed
- Score a kill as the last member of the team
