February 15, 2023: Season Two starts today! Find everything about the Restore Honor mechanic in this handy guide.

The second season of post-launch content for Warzone 2 is packed with a wealth of new content for you to experience. If you're here, you're probably on the hunt for information on the new Warzone 2 Restore Honor mechanic making its way to Call of Duty's battle royale.

Season Two sees the arrival of a brand-new Resurgence map in addition to the ISO Hemlock assault rifle and KV Broadside shotgun that could spark a major shift in the current change. But, how exactly does the Restore Honor mechanic work over the course of a match? You've come to the right place.

Before we take a closer look at the Restore Honor mechanic, take a look at our guides showcasing the current Warzone 2 meta and whether Ashika Island has any AI soldiers patrolling the map.

What is the Warzone 2 Restore Honor mechanic?

Restoring honour during a Resurgence map sounds confusing but in reality, it's a rather straightforward idea. All players on Ashika Island will drop a dog tag when they're eliminated. Once you drop into the action, you'll have a chance to revisit the location of your death and retrieve the tag.

If you or one of your squadmates manage to retrieve the dog tag, you'll earn a small cash reward and a single ping of a UAV which will come in handy when attempting to track down any nearby opponents.

Should you collect dog tags in Warzone 2?

If you're a bit short of cash or are looking to gain some intel on the opposition's whereabouts, it's definitely worth taking the risk and grabbing the dog tags in Warzone 2 Resurgence. It's worth noting that there's always a chance of an enemy using them as bait so check your corners before obtaining them.

Having the extra cash makes all the difference when it comes to earning a loadout drop quickly, and the added bonus of a UAV ping could make the difference between life and death.

As it's a new mechanic, it'll be interesting to see how the community reacts to this new addition. Hopefully, it encourages plenty of aggressive play instead of benefitting campers using them to lure unsuspecting players into the open.
