Call of Duty: Warzone developer Raven Software have apologised to fans for ruining the launch of the Season 1 Reloaded update. However, the studio is working on bringing in some fan favourite modes in the near future.
Call of Duty: Season 1 Reloaded brings a host of new content to both Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone. Unfortunately, the launch of the new season was mired with issues that completely broke the game.
In a post on Twitter, developer Raven Software apologised to fans for ruining the launch of the new update. Fans noticed they were unable to make it past the game’s main menu, and those who could were met with major graphical bugs.
The studio admitted that the launch fell below its standards of quality, and promised quick fixes.
“We wanted to address the issues that players encountered during the Season 1 Reloaded launch period,” Raven said. “We - as devs - love this game and apologize for the disruption that resulted from these events. Please know that we hold ourselves to a high standard and yesterday’s issues did not align with that.”
Raven explained that the team is working on “the return of some fan-favourite features in upcoming seasons.” While the Season 1 Reloaded patch laid the groundwork for some of these returning goodies, it’ll still be a while until you can play them. In the meantime, you can still get your hands on the best HRM-9 loadout that's dominating the meta.
The studio explained that multiple CoD teams rallied together to fix the issues with the Season 1 Reloaded update as soon as it went live.
“We unfortunately encountered a conflict between live player data and our servers,” Raven said. “Our teams were made immediately aware of the issues and began investigating shortly after the update went live. We rallied studio teams from around the world to get these issues resolved as swiftly as possible.”
Raven is seemingly teasing the return of Warzone’s Rebirth Island for future seasons. While this doesn’t make the broken update any better, it is at least something to get excited about.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available as a free to play game right now on Xbox, PlayStation and PC.
