With Season 1 for Call of Duty Vanguard in full swing, there's been one glaring omission that had seemingly disappeared from the latest World War 2 shooter. Since the launch of 2019's Modern Warfare, players have been able to take a closer look at their weapons thanks to the weapon inspect mechanic which has yet to be added in Sledgehammer Games' latest title.
While it's a purely cosmetic feature, it's one that players are wanting to return and if a recent leak is anything to go by, they may be in luck. If the in-game files are to be believed, weapon inspection could be arriving in the not too distant future.

Vanguard Weapon Inspect Leak
The leaks come from notable dataminer @ZestyCODLeaks, who has an impressive track record of uncovering a range of unreleased content from within Call of Duty titles. The leaker managed to uncover the weapon inspection animation for the hugely popular Automaton assault rifle.
The short clip shows the player model tweaking the magazine of the rifle before returning to its standard shooting position. Alongside the Automaton, animations for the MP-40 and the Katana melee weapon have also been discovered.
Vanguard Weapon Inspect Release Date
As always, leaks should be taken with a pinch of salt but the fact that these animations have been found within Vanguard's files, there's every chance that they will be arriving in the not too distant future. At a guess, we expect them to appear at the halfway point of Season 1 where a "Reloaded" update could go live.
