If you’ve been playing Marvel Rivals for a while, you might’ve noticed an icon next to a player’s name on the scoreboard, it can be yours as well. This icon is known as the Ace icon. Simply put, it means that the said gamer is outperforming the rest of his teammates. Think of him as the MVP—the most important player on the team during the match.

When it comes to Marvel Rivals, there are multiple factors taken into account to determine which player gets the Ace icon next to their names. Below, we’ve mentioned them:

  • Most Damage Dealt on the team
  • Most Damage Blocked (for tank heroes)
  • Most Assists
  • Most Healing (for support heroes)
  • Least Deaths
  • Achieving multi-kills (triple kills or higher)

Naturally, these stats change throughout the match with respect to each player—and so does the Ace icon respectfully. So for instance, if player one is the current Ace but player B starts to outperform him during the match, the latter would be given the Ace title. So on and so forth.

At the end of the match, the player who gets the Ace is crowned the MVP, otherwise known as the Most Valuable Player (provided your team wins.) The losing team’s Ace is known as the SVP, otherwise known as the Secondary Valuable Player.

While this ‘achievement’ doesn’t necessarily have any perks or rewards in the game, it’s a great way to keep yourself motivated for further improvement.

What Does Ace Kill Mean During Fight?

In discussing the former Ace title, we talked about individual player performance. The second type of Ace is tied to a collaborative team effort.

This is also known as the Ace Kill, which means that your team eliminated all six members of the opposition in quick succession. When that happens, players receive a notification on their screen to celebrate this achievement.

Naturally, getting an Ace Kill is harder than the Ace icon, as it’s a collaborative effort ranging to all members of your team. In that case, the team needs to have fundamental knowledge about their characters and to know how they can use their unique abilities in sync with each other to dominate the opposition.
