The AK-47 assault rifle is a staple of the Call of Duty franchise and while it’s a popular weapon of choice in multiplayer, the rifle is often overlooked when it comes to loadout selection in Season 2 of Black Ops Cold War Zombies.
This fully automatic rifle excels in close and mid-range engagements thanks to its immense output of damage making it very easy to tackle the hordes of the undead.
Thanks to the gunsmith, there are numerous attachments that can be equipped in order to improve various aspects of the AK-47 to make it the ideal rifle to eliminate any Zombies heading in your direction.
In this guide, find the ultimate AK-47 loadout to use in Black Ops Cold War Zombies.

AK-47 Cold War Zombies
The high output of damage at close and medium ranges means that any undead opposition stands no chance of getting anywhere near you. With just two or three bullets to the head of a target, they’re done for.
With high damage, the recoil can prove difficult to control which hinders its performance over longer distances and if any Zombies do get too close, the slow movement speed can make it difficult to retreat to a safe distance.
AK-47 Cold War Zombies Attachments
Here are the perfect attachments to maximise the AK-47 to its fullest potential:
- Spetsnaz Compensator (Muzzle)
- 20” Spetsnaz RPK Barrel (Barrel)
- Patrol Grip (Underbarrel)
- VDV 50 RND Fast Mag (Magazine)
- Spetsnaz PKM Stock (Stock)
This combination of attachments drastically improves the mobility of the AK-47, allowing close-quarters engagement to become much easier to deal with.
The addition of the compensator brings the recoil down to levels that are easier to counter with a bit of trigger discipline but the chances of encountering some kick when firing on a target from afar are still high.
Is The AK-47 Good In Cold War Zombies?
In my opinion, the AK-47 is arguably one of the most powerful assault rifles to be using in Zombies. Its power is superior to any other AR in the game, making it the perfect weapon to negotiate the opening six rounds of a match.
After six rounds, the undead becomes much harder to kill even with this set of attachments equipped but a quick trip to the Pack-A-Punch machine can quickly fix that issue.
