In this guide, we explain the Diglett bonus of the Grand Underground in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

How To Get The Diglett Bonus
As you adventure into the Grand Underground of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, you'll notice a gauge below your map. Soon, you'll also notice Digletts appearing in the corridors with pink sparkles.
When you run over these Digletts, your character will briefly sparkle and the gauge will increase. As you then hit the end goal of this gauge, 40, you'll be notified that something special may happen in the Grand Underground.
If you're playing online, it's important to note that the gauge will count every player Diglett encounter, and not just your own. Thus, if you're wanting the Diglett bonus, we recommend playing online to reach it much faster.
What Does The Diglett Bonus Do
When the Diglett Bonus is active, it lasts for four minutes, so act fast! The bonus will greatly increase your chances of finding Gorgeous Stone Boxes containing Shiny Statues while digging. If you have a status effect active in your Secret Base too, that particular effect will be active during the bonus. This will likely mean that, depending on the statues in your base, a specific type of Pokémon may be more likely to appear.
Additionally, the bonus also increases your chances of encountering shiny Pokémon in each of the Pokémon Hideaways. Albeit, the chances will be increased from 1 in 4096 to 3 in 4096, so the chances are still slim that you'll grab that shiny. For this, if you're in a Hideaway when the bonus activates, you'll need to leave and re-enter for the chances of encountering a shiny Pokémon to have changed. Also, Pokémon will not appear shiny in the overworld either. The sparkle animations will appear during battle, alongside an alternate colour variant, indicating whether the Pokémon is shiny or not.
