When Did Cold War Come Out?

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War isn’t a perfect game, especially with a title that’s such a mouthful, but it’s a shooter that has managed to capture everyone’s attention.

Sure, it doesn’t break that much new ground when compared to other Call of Duty games but if the formula isn't broken then there’s no point in fixing it, especially since so many people are willing to buy it yearly.

When Did Black Ops Cold War Come Out?

With Black Ops Cold War Season 2 making the game feel fresher, it’s hard to believe that the game came out last November.

The game came out last year on November 13th, with many fans getting excited to see what Activision had in store for the new entry at the time.

It ended up being a pretty solid title but one that didn’t exactly move the needle when it came to gameplay but no one’s really expecting anything groundbreaking from a Call of Duty game these days.

Another reason why fans were excited for Black Ops Cold War was the fact that it brought back the Black Ops name and actually had some single-player content.

If anyone remembers, Black Ops 4 stirred up a bit of controversy since it was mostly a battle royale game, albeit a pretty good one that made these familiar mechanics feel fresh again.

The game didn’t have a lot of single-player content, completely ditching a campaign mode, so seeing one reappear in Black Ops Cold War was a good move.

It will be interesting to see how Activision follows-up Black Ops Cold War with Call of Duty 2021, or whatever the game ends up being called.

They might have to keep Outbreak in the new game since it’s quickly become a fan-favorite mode amongst players. Only time will tell if Black Ops Cold War influences the new game, though we’re sure that it will be released around October or November as well.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is now available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
