Pokémon Legends: Arceus sees players explore the vast region of Hisui, an ancient Sinnoh. In Hisui, you will join the Galaxy Expedition Team and then be tasked with carrying out various Pokémon-related research.
Through quests and missions, you'll learn more about 'mons to feedback to Professor Laventon at your Base Camp, and you'll be filling out your Pokédex in no time. You'll also meet the Diamond Clan and Pearl Clan of Hisui, and learn more about them too!
Not only will players experience seamless battling transitions and get to explore open-world areas as they aim to fill up their Pokédex, but they are also at risk alongside their Pokémon. This leads to the question of what happens when you faint?
What Happens When You Faint
During battle, you'll be used to having to switch Pokémon in and out if they faint during a particularly tough battle. This is no different in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, aside from the fact that where your Pokémon recover is different. One slight addition to the game, however, is that if attacked in the wild, you as a Pokémon Trainer can also faint.
Particularly if facing the likes of an enraged Alpha Pokémon, there's every chance that your Pokémon Trainer character could faint before even getting into the nitty gritty of a battle. But what happens when you faint?
When you faint, you will black out and be returned to your Base Camp to recover. You will also lose some of the items you may have been carrying. Luckily, you can go ahead and craft new potions, PokéBalls, and items using a workbench at the Base Camp, before returning to show that wild Pokémon who's boss.
The main gameplay difference that this implicates is that as you go and complete your Pokémon research as a part of the Galaxy Expedition Team, you need to remember that you - your character - are not necessarily safe from wild Pokémon anymore. However, fainting is still nothing to worry about.
That's all there is to fainting (and safely recovering) in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. For more, check out our character customisation guide if you wish to battle Pokémon in style.
