Apex Legends might just be one of the most popular free-to-play shooters around, but the origins of this game are something to behold.
This video game was literally announced and released on the same day with very little hype but managed to become a huge success in a fairly quick manner.

Who Made Apex Legends?
Many fans credit the developers in Respawn who managed to force a number of great games out, despite EA’s efforts to sabotage their own company.
Respawn Entertainment was founded by Jason West and Vince Zampella, both of whom left Activision after a pay dispute about Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.
They have since done a lot of good work, with Titanfall, which launched as a multiplayer-only game, Titanfall 2, an improved sequel with great multiplayer and an excellent single-player campaign, and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
Apex Legends is another one of those successful games, set in the same universe as Titanfall, as it takes all of those familiar battle royale tropes but keeps them fun.
Considering how Titanfall 2 was sort of a commercial flop despite being a good game that got great reviews, so seeing Apex Legends become a huge hit and knowing that it’s set in the same universe is sort of a happy ending for Respawn Entertainment.
Obviously, this isn’t the end for Respawn since they are proving to be a must-see developer in spite of being under the big EA umbrella and we can’t wait to see what else they have planned for Apex Legends.
It is kind of hard to imagine a battle royale world without Apex Legends these days since it’s obviously a big inspiration to similar games like Valorant and Hyper Scape.
We’re sure that Respawn Entertainment is very happy with the game’s success and don’t expect the big updates to stop anytime soon.
Apex Legends is available now on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC, with a Nintendo Switch port coming on March 9.
