The R1 Shadowhunter Crossbow in Black Ops Cold War is one of the remaining weapons that has yet to be released as part of Season 2.
On March 18th, Treyarch released the weapon as part of a cosmetics bundle alongside adding it into the weapon arsenal, where players could get their hands on the crossbow by completing an in-game challenge.
Just a few hours after its appearance, it was quickly removed from the store and from the ‘Special’ weapons tab.
But why has the crossbow been removed from Black Ops Cold War?

According to a tweet posted by Activision Support, the bundle containing the R1 Shadowhunter and the weapon had been released “earlier than planned.”
For those that bought the bundle containing the crossbow, Activision says that it is in the process of issuing refunds.

R1 Shadowhunter Crossbow New Release Date
The new release date for the R1 Shadowhunter is the 25th March.
Progression Update - 21st March
Treyarch have decided to make changes to how the Crossbow will be reimplemented to Black Ops Cold War.
For those that have already unlocked the Bow, you will be placed at 14/15 matches completed. So you'll only need to play 1 match to re-unlock your weapon.
This is definitly a nice change from Treyarch, and will stop a lot of hassle for those who already put the time in to unlock the new Crossbow.
