There are different tiers of tanks, ranging from Tier I (the lowest) to Tier X (the highest). For those who are new to World of Tanks, we will simplify things by highlighting the best tank from each tier, along with the country it belongs to, and the reasons why we consider it the best. Let’s begin

Best Tier I Tank - Leichttraktor

A very noob-friendly tank

As a newcomer, you want a versatile tank that lets you get away with some mistakes while you're learning the game, and this German powerhouse is perfect.

With tons of HP to resist damage and very accurate to make your shots easier, the Leichttraktor is a solid Tier I choice.

Best Tier II Tank - T2 Medium

The T2 Medium tank is an exceptional American tank that boasts versatility and ease of learning, making it an excellent choice for beginners.

Since it's still an early-tier tank it provides a solid foundation for mastering the game mechanics, making it a reliable and effective choice on the battlefield. If you want a sturdy, fast, with good close combat artillery, this one's for you.

Best Tier III Tank - Cruiser Mk. III

A British power house

Hailing from Great Britain, the Cruiser III is an excellent light tank to main if you don't mind making big risk/reward decisions.

The reason is that this tank features incredible damage-dealing capabilities, able to take down basically every other tank in Tier III and below on its own. However, its defensive capabilities are less than optimal so you better not miss your shots or get in precarious situations because it’s not going to end well for you.

Best Tier IV Tank - Matilda

For Tier IV we stick with the British and land on the Matilda medium tank. Reaching a max top speed of 24 km/h, you won’t be using this one to scout ahead that’s for sure.

Unlike the Cruiser, however, you'll have at your disposal a tank that can dish out the damage but also take it. While its penetration damage has been nerfed in the past, it still sits at a solid 121 mm. You'll be somewhat slow but a force to be reckoned with.

Best Tier V Tank - T67

A bulky tank destroyer

Our first tank destroyer on the list is the American Tier V T67. This is the complete opposite of Matilda, focusing on high velocity, amazing damage, and continuously being a nuisance for less mobile vehicles.

This tank can go as fast as 61 km/h, making it a quick and agile vehicle. However, it's not the most precise tank out there, so you'll need to get close to your target. Additionally, you should be careful since it has low HP and can be taken down by almost any other tank with just one shot if you're not paying attention.

Best Tier VI Tank - Cromwell

Back to Great Britain's selection of tanks, the Cromwell continues the line of nimble but powerful machinery that will let you experience more high-octane gameplay in World of Tanks.

While it doesn't boast the same amount of firepower as the T67, it's an even faster tank clocking in at 64 km/h top max speed. It also has 840HP, making it a bit more sturdier than other tanks of the same style of play.

Best Tier VII Tank - T29

An American favourite

Back to America with the T29. The United States focuses on tanks that can do a bit of everything and the T29 is a perfect choice if you're looking for a more balanced gameplay experience.

It's considerably slower than our previous two picks (35 km/h) but it has a significantly bigger HP pool (1,250). It does a solid 198 mm penetration damage. Can't go wrong with this one.

Best Tier VIII Tank - T-44

Our first USSR tank on the list, the T-44 is a medium tank that excels at basically every scenario, particularly becoming a stealthy machine capable of surprise attacking the most unsuspected enemies.

A nice combination of decent speed (51 km/h) and good HP pool (1,300) you can take down overextending with ease. Just be careful if you miss your shots, the T-44 reloads very slowly, taking almost 15 seconds to do so.

Best Tier IX Tank - Leopard Prototyp A

Our second German tank of the list

Our second German tank on the list, the Leopard Prototyp A is quite simply the perfect fit if you like spearheading your team's offensive.

With a top speed of 65 km/h, penetration damage of 278 mm, and a reload speed of 10.16 seconds, the Leopard is one of the best tanks in the game. It also has decent HP, making it suitable for prolonged fights.

Best Tier X Tank - Object 430U

Our final pick is a Soviet medium tank that has almost no weaknesses while being capable of filling any role in a team or suited for players who like to switch playstyles constantly.

It is a user-friendly tank with a top speed of 50 km/h, 2,000 HP, and a quick reload time of 9.78 seconds. Its shell velocity of 940 m/s is its most significant advantage.
