Blizzard has released their official preview of Protoform Synthesis, the new system coming to the game in Patch 9.2. There's a lot to take in, but here's a snippet from the Blizzard overview:
"The Forge of the Afterlives is a powerful instrument of creation and all that remains of the First Ones. Just as it creates new realms for the Shadowlands, Synthesis Forges have been used to create the entities that populate those realms. With reagents collected as you explore Zereth Mortis, you’ll be able to start crafting some Zereth Mortis-themed mounts and battle pets. There are over fifty mounts and battle pets to add to your collection, and each requires components gathered from across Zereth Mortis to craft. Crafting components are easy to distinguish and labeled with Protoform Synthesis, but you’ll first need to unlock one or both Synthesis Forges to see and collect any of these components and schematics."
You can find the full overview for Protoform Synthesis on the link.

World of Warcraft game director Ion Hazzikostas has announced a pretty exciting change coming to the game when the 9.2.5 update goes live on the PTR.
As per Blizzard, the team are working on adding the ability for Alliance and Horde players to form premade parties together for dungeons, raids, and rated PvP.
“There have been two decades’ worth of code and content crafted with the assumption that parties can only have players of a single faction, and while we want to make this feature available as soon as possible, the extent of the change means that it couldn’t be ready in time for the upcoming Eternity’s End content update,” Hazzikostas explained.

It appears that some canny dataminers (via wowhead) have managed to find some new voice-over lines for the Jailer Zovaal. These were found on the game's current 9.2 Patch which is undergoing testing on the game's PTR servers.

We're still some weeks away from Shadowlands 9.2, but two Blizzard developers (Scariizard and Skald) have taken to the forums to give players a better understanding of the lengths they went to, when designing Tier Sets for 9.2. We're not going to drop the quotes here, as they are VERY long and worth digesting on the community forums themselves, but the two devs answer questions such as:
- What does the team feel the ultimate goal of a tier set is?
- How are Tier Set bonuses chosen?
- How strong should a tier set be?
Follow the links above for each developer's input if you'd like to know more about the upcoming 9.2 Tier sets.

As per Wowhead, dataminers have discovered that loot has finally been added to the games dungeon journal in the latest Patch 9.2 PTR build. So now, we have our very first look at some of the items which could drop from the new Sepulcher of the First Ones raid coming in 9.2. This includes the Jailer's Gavel of the First Arbiter (seen below). Follow the link for a closer look at the weapon's unique animation and a few more details gleaned from the latest PTR update.
WoW Shadowlands 9.2 Release Date
The developers have not yet shared any information on when WoW Shadowlands 9.2 could be released to all players. Patch 9.2 went live on the game's PTR (public test realm) at the start of December 2021.
Usually, WoW PTR testing lasts somewhere between 2.5 and 3 months. Although, it would be fair to say that testing for past Shadowlands updates has been slower than previous expansions. With this in mind, we expect so we expect that patch 9.2 has a release date around the middle of February or early March. In addition, new updates tend to go live with the game's weekly reset, which takes place on a Tuesday or Wednesday (depending on if you're playing on a US or EU-based server).
So February 15 seems the earliest we could see the update, with March 9 the latest we potentially see the update.
WoW Shadowlands 9.2 Patch Notes
Following the Thanksgiving holiday in the US, Blizzard returned and released the upcoming WoW Shadowlands patch 9.2 onto the game's PTR. This allows players to test Eternity's End before it goes live in 2022. If you want to take a look at the game's current WoW Shadowlands 9.2 Patch Notes, follow the link to take a look at Blizzard's Forums (they are LENGTHY). We still expect that the game will undergo further changes before the update goes live proper.
WoW Shadowlands 9.2 New Content
Here we will take a look at all the content that was announced during Eternity's End Developer Preview.
Explore Zereth Mortis, Land of the First Ones
Uncharted land created by the First Ones is a realm that creates afterlives for all worlds in the Warcraft universe. Now the jailer has all sigils of the Shadowlands, he has made his way to the Sepulcher of the First Ones, as he intends to carry out his final plan.
The zone will contain two different biomes, a lush green environment, and a dry sandy location, which was what Zerteth Mortis was before the Progenitors were still experimenting in the lands.
New Raid and Season 3
As with any new major patch, there is a new raid, the Sepulcher of the First Ones, which will feature 11 bosses, including some familiar faces.
Mal'ganis was spotted in the developer preview, which should tell an interesting story because of his connection with turning Arthas into the Lich King, and he is likely doing the same with Anduin.
Anduin has been confirmed to be the 8th boss of the raid, which will be the final boss of week 1.
The final 3 bosses, which end with an encounter with the Jailer, will not be active until the following week when Mythic opens, which could lead to some pretty interesting story developments and set up for the end of Shadowlands and the next expansion.
Players can expect a new PvP and Mythic+ Season with all-new rewards and gearing systems.
WoW Shadowlands 9.2 Tier Sets
Tier Sets are returning to the game in the Eternity's End update and players will once again have access to powerful class tier sets, which were removed from the game at the end of Legion.
"Harness the power of the First Ones by collecting distinctive class armor sets via raids, PvP, or Mythic+ dungeons. Each set comes with powerful 2- and 4-piece set bonuses that complement your unique abilities". The preview reads.
This means for the first time ever, players will have multiple ways to earn these class sets, outside of being raid drops only.
This will allow mythic+ and PvP focused players a way to stay relevant without needing to raid to stay competitive in their own types of content.

Cypher of the First Ones
One of the new mechanics coming to Zereth Mortis is a new take on daily quests and reputation farming.
Upon entering Zereth Mortis, players will not be able to understand the musical language of the Automa, and thus will team up with a friendly NPC as they unlock this new language, which comes with bonus activities, daily quests, events, rewards, and the replacement to the Renown System (yes no more 40 levels to grind.

WoW Shadowlands 9.2 Story Leaks
Although we've still a good few weeks away from release, there have already been quite a few leaks about the upcoming WoW 9.2 Patch. Most of these story details have come from dataminers looking through the game files.
Major Patch 9.2 Spoilers Follow...
As per Wowhead: "Initial datamining signs point to Pelagos as the new Arbiter of the Shadowlands in Patch 9.2 Eternity's End. There are several NPC IDs called "Arbiter Pelagos" with Titan combat sounds associated with the NPC. The Arbiter Pelagos NPC also has no model + texture files shipped with this build, implying Blizzard is hiding the model potentially to avoid spoilers."
