When is the Wuthering Waves 1.1 Release Date?
The Wuthering Waves 1.1 release date is Friday, June 28, 2024, across mobile, PC, and PlayStation. With this update, Rovers will be able to get their hands on new playable characters and take on new content.
HoYoverse fans may feel a bit of relief with this release date as Wuthering Waves 1.1 was originally scheduled to coincide with Honkai Star Rail 2.3 and the launch of Zenless Zone Zero. Now, they’ll be able to spend more time in Jinzhou before hopping back onto the Astral Express or exploring New Eridu.
What’s New in Wuthering Waves 1.1?
When Wuthering Waves 1.1 comes around, Rovers will be introduced to a ton of new content. Here’s a closer look at the upcoming content for the first major Wuthering Waves update:
- Continuation of the main story
- New Resonators
- Additional area
- New boss
- Changes and fixes
Wuthering Waves 1.1 Characters
Kuro Games has revealed that the new playable characters for Wuthering Waves 1.1 will be Jinhsi and Changli, following on from the 1.0 banners. The developers haven’t shared anything about how these two characters play just yet, but those who have gone through the current chapter of the main questline will recognize Jinhsi.
Jinhsi is the current Magistrate of Jinzhou, making her the appointed leader of the bustling city. Players work together with Jinhsi and her bodyguard Sanhua to uncover the plans of the Fractsidus, the mysterious organization that Scar is a part of.
As for Changli, Rovers have yet to get to know this Resonator but she has already been teased in the story. She serves as a mentor to Jinhsi, but we have yet to see how exactly Changli will fit into the plot of Wuthering Waves.
New Area - Mt. Firmament
The launch of Wuthering Waves 1.1 will include a new area called Mt. Firmament. We can expect the new story missions to take us to this new location.
Of course, a new place to explore also means new puzzles to solve, more Blobflies to track down, and a bunch of Astrite to collect. Wuthering Waves already has several breathtaking sites to behold, so a new area would open up a bunch of opportunities for the game to impress us with more gorgeous scenery.
New Boss - Jue
Jue is the sentinel of Jinzhou, a dragon that serves as the city’s protector. We see Jue briefly at the start of the game in a sort of dream/flashback sequence and learn later on that he was the one to appoint Jinhsi as the city’s magistrate.
Though Jinhsi and Jue work together for the betterment of Jinzhou and its people, a battle between the two is hinted at at the tail end of 1.0’s story missions. Now that we have confirmation of Jue being a boss in the game, it looks like the Rover will also be participating in that encounter.
Wuthering Waves 1.1 Changes and Fixes
The new Wuthering Waves update will include some changes to improve the player experience. One of the biggest issues raised by the community during 1.0 was the Echo progression system, pointing out that it was too grindy.
So when Wuthering Waves 1.1 comes out, Kuro Games will implement the following changes for a better Echo farming experience:
- The Tacet Field reward cutscene will be removed.
- Shell Credit cost for upgrading Echoes will be reduced.
- Players will be able to obtain more Echo levelling materials.
- Implementation of Waveplate storage system.
With these changes, Rovers can spend less time upgrading their Echoes and more time exploring the rest of Wuthering Waves.
And that’s everything you need to know about Wuthering Waves 1.1. While waiting for the update, be sure to check out the current Wuthering Waves banners to see if there’s anything you want to pull for or read up on the Wuthering Waves battle pass and learn everything it has to offer.
