Microsoft's next-generation console brings with it the opportunity to capture video clips and screenshots that you can share with those you most want to.
So how exactly can you do that?
How To Capture Video Clips And Screenshots On Xbox Series X
This is super easy to do and requires limited effort on your part.
Simple press the Xbox button on your controller to bring up the Xbox Guide panel.
You'll notice to the right of the panel a few options.
The two most important ones are:
- Y - Capture screenshot
- X - Record what happened
Press the appropriate button to take a screenshot or capture a video clip.
This only works when you're doing an activity such as playing a game. Be aware that this may interfere slightly with your chosen activity so pick an appropriate time to do it!
How To Watch Video Clips And Screenshots On Xbox Series X
To watch your moments and view screenshots:
- Press the Xbox button on your controller to bring up the Xbox Guide menu.
- Scroll right to the 'Capture & Share' panel.
- Find the capture or screenshot you want to share by exploring 'Recent captures' - then open it up and press play
How To Share Video Clips And Screenshots On Xbox Series X
To share your video clips and screenshots.
- Press the Xbox button on your controller to bring up the Xbox Guide menu.
- Scroll right to the 'Capture & Share' panel.
- Find the capture or screenshot you want to share by exploring 'Recent captures' - then open it up.
- Once open, you can choose to send it in a message to a friend via Xbox Live or share it to Twitter.
- If you click 'See all sharing options' you can also add it to your OneDrive or share it to a club.
- If you press 'Activity feed' you can add a caption and share it to your feed on Xbox Live.

If you press 'Trim' you can trim the length of the video to remove any unnecessary footage within the clip.

To delete your video clips and screenshots.
- Press the Xbox button on your controller to bring up the Xbox Guide menu.
- Scroll right to the 'Capture & Share' panel.
- Find the capture or screenshot you want to share by exploring 'Recent captures' - then open it up.
- Press 'Delete', this will give you the option to delete it from your console, Xbox Live or both.
How To Turn Off Captures On Xbox Series X
To make stop your console capturing, here's what you'll need to do:
- Press the Xbox button on your controller to bring up the Xbox Guide menu.
- Scroll right to the 'Capture & Share' panel.
- Press 'Capture Settings'
- Press A on the 'Allow game captures' dropdown
- Select your preferred option
You can choose to have both automatic and manual capture on, just manual captures or no captures at all.
How To Make Captures Longer Or Shorter On Xbox Series X
To make your video clips and screenshots longer or shorters, you'll need to do the following:
- Press the Xbox button on your controller to bring up the Xbox Guide menu.
- Scroll right to the 'Capture & Share' panel.
- Press 'Capture Settings'
- Press A on the 'Record what happened' dropdown
- Select your preferred time for clip recording
The options start as low as 15 seconds and go up in 15-second increments to a maximum of 60 seconds.
How To Turn Off Automatic Capture Uploads On Xbox Series X
To stop video clips and screenshots uploading, you'll need to do the following:
- Press the Xbox button on your controller to bring up the Xbox Guide menu.
- Scroll right to the 'Capture & Share' panel.
- Press 'Capture Settings'
- Press A on the 'Automatically upload' dropdown
- Select your preferred option
