Genshin Impact Yun Jin Build - Best Weapons and Artifacts

July 22, 2022: Yun Jun may be featured in Yoimiya's rerun banner soon.

Looking for a decent Genshin Impact Yun Jin build now she's released? This opera singer and dancer at the Heyu Teahouse in Liyue Harbor is a famous figure among local residents and travelling merchants, and, as Keqing mentions, if you want to go see her yourself you'll have to contend with the crowds of fans that flock to see her perform.

Now version 2.4 has released, you can finally add the prestigious performer to your party, though you'll have to wait until the second half of the version to get her for free in the Lantern Rite event. Still, if you're planning to wish on the Xiao rerun or the Shenhe banner, you have a chance of getting her as a potential four-star.

In this Genshin Impact Yunjin build guide, we'll run through some of the best setups to make the most of either her parry and hybrid DPS/support potential, or purely as a support character.

What is the Best Genshin Impact Yun Jin Build?

Yun Jin is all about buffing normal attacks for your party by using her elemental burst. She can also use her elemental skill to parry in a similar way to Beidou once she unlocks her 'True to Oneself' passive. In this sense you can either run her as a full support character, taking advantage of the defense-scaling normal buffs from her burst, or you can play her as more of a hybrid support/sub-DPS. Here are our builds for both:

Support

If you're using Shenhe just as a support character, you're going to want to build defense and energy recharge so she can use her burst lots:

  • Weapon: Favonius Lance
  • Artifacts: Husk of Opulent Dreams/Defender's Will

The Favonius Lance is a great polearm pick for support characters, since it boosts energy recharge as a substat, and has a chance to grant energy particles when you crit. Make sure to build some crit rate with your artifact stats, though, so you can achieve its full potential. Two-pieces of Husk of Opulent Dreams and Defender's Will grants a double 30% defense buff—perfect for strengthening the normal attack buff that Yun Jin provides with her burst.

Sub-DPS/Support

For those that want Yun Jin to do a little damage, the key is either taking advantage of her normal attack buff for herself, and using her elemental skill to parry and deal powerful Geo strikes:

  • Weapon: Deathmatch
  • Artifacts: Husk of Opulent Dreams

Deathmatch is a four-star polearm that you can get through the battlepass, and is great for a sub-DPS Yun Jin, since it boosts attack and defense by 16% if there are two nearby opponents, and attack by 24% if there's just one. It also boosts crit rate as a substat. The extra defense further increases Yun Jin's normal attack buff, and the extra crit rate also adds value to her normal attacks and parry. It's definitely a good idea to build crit rate and crit damage further if you go with this option, though don't neglect energy recharge, otherwise you might struggle to use her burst.

A four-piece set of Husk of Opulent Dreams boosts defense by 30% and introduces a stack-able called Curiosity. This stacks up to four times with each providing a 6% defense and Geo damage bonus. You can get Curiosity by hitting an opponent with a Geo attack, or alternatively, you gain one stack every three seconds the character is off the field. This makes it easy for Yun Jin to jump in and deal a powerful Geo parry, before using the extra defense to activate a strong burst buff for your other characters' normal attacks.

Who is Yun Jin?

Yun Jin is the head of Liyue Harbor's Yun-Han Opera Troupe, but also performs as a singer in the group. She is much-beloved, and has a host of admiring fans who follow her wherever she performs. We also know that she's friends with Xinyan and enjoys rock music, too. Yun Jin leaked as a potential character ages back, but it was only in the Moonchase Festival quest's final cutscene that we got to see her for the first time, as well as Shenhe. You can watch her character demo below:
