To unlock all the abilities you need, you'll have to cross the lake in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. This is one of the first puzzles you'll come across in Link's latest journey across Hyrule, and the game fittingly doesn't spell out how to solve it.
In this guide, we'll help show you how to cross the lake in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. It'll require a combination of Link's new abilities, but once you know how it works, the rewards are more than worth it.
How do I cross the lake in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom?
Crossing the lake is one of the first challenges you get in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. At this point you'll have Link's new Ultrahand ability, which lets you bind together disparate objects to form new, creative inventions.
First of all, make sure to chop down some of the trees dotted around you to get wooden logs. Crucially, make sure you don't chop them too finely, otherwise they'll convert into firewood, at which point they won't be helpful in crossing the lake.
You'll then have to bond three of these logs together using the Ultrahand ability. This makes the de facto base of a raft, which you'll need to use to cross the lake. With the base formed, head back across the bridge you can see nearby and grab a pre-made sail, ready and prepared for you on the ground. Use the Ultrahand ability once more to carry the sail in mid-air, bringing it back to your logs, and attaching it to the raft.

With this home made raft almost ready to go, use Ultrahand one last time to drop your raft onto the water. Keep an eye on the wind direction, because you need to place the raft and its sail in line with the gust to ensure it sails properly.
Then, simply hop on and let the wind take you across the lake, to the destination. Here, you'll find the Fuse ability that'll become incredibly helpful in fusing new weapon combinations together.
