Season 1 of Black Ops Cold War is due to arrive on December 16th, 2020.
This comes after it was unfortunately delayed a few days, but at least it is still releasing this month.
Now, players are patiently awaiting the release of the new season.
However, some are reporting multiple crashes with Black Ops Cold War and the new PS5.
Here's what everyone's been saying!
Crashes
PS5 users are ‘not touching’ their consoles until Sony ‘fixes’ whatever is allegedly causing the consoles to crash when playing games including Black Ops Cold War.
Many users of the Black Ops Call of Duty Sub-Reddit are complaining of frequent crashes, freezes, and other adverse effects when trying to play the game on Sony’s new console.
And for many, the potential risk of doing any damage to their new purchase, far outweighs the reward.
“I had one system crash and two game crashes today. I hope there is no damage now on my new ps5... not gonna touch this game again until its fixed,” wrote one user.
Another wrote: “My ps5 has already crashed like 4 times from Cold War and Miles Morales, you think it’ll cause problems down the road for the console even if I don’t play those games anymore until the patch?”
A third added: “I had 2 issues last night with my ps5. I remember one dealt with me and COD where it just shut down my ps5 then restored and by restored I mean like it did a full on black and grey shut down reboot restore mode after like a minute to "REPAIR" my ps5. needless to say, I haven't and won't be playin’ till I know they fixed the issue.”
It follows earlier reports that some PS5 consoles were ‘bricking’ when they played certain games. It’s worth noting that there are many reasons why a console could appear to be malfunctioning. Remember, the PS5 is still incredibly early in its life – and so there may be a number of code-related issues which may be ironed out by a simple patch/
And thankfully, when it comes to Black Ops anyway, that seems to be on the way.
As reported by CharlieINTEL a new patch is on the way on November 8 – and will arrive on all consoles and PC. It’ll bring a host of improvements to known bugs as well as prepare Cold War for the much-anticipated Season One.
Season One’s launch has been moved from December 10 to December 16, develop Treyarch confirmed in a blog post
It’s the largest free content drop in Black Ops history: a massive expansion of free content, including new Operators, weapons, player progression, and Battle Pass rewards across Black Ops Cold War and Warzone.
