Vanguard Map Tier List

Call of Duty Vanguard has been out across the globe for a few weeks, with players dropping into the latest dose of multiplayer developed by Sledgehammer Games. At launch, Vanguard multiplayer featured a total of 16 maps set across numerous locations and as the start of Season 1 approaches, many players are expecting more battlefields to be added into the game.

With players jumping into the action on a regular basis, many have determined their favourite maps and which ones to avoid due to their flaws. With that said, we've created the definitive Vanguard map tier list which contains the best and worst battlefields in multiplayer.

S Tier

This trio of maps has proven to be the most popular thanks to the fast-paced action that regularly takes place within their confines. Compared to the all-out chaos of Das Haus, Eagle's Nest is a more traditional Call of Duty experience with a simplistic map design and a layout perfect for most game modes. Tuscan features a more complex layout but is the perfect map for objective modes despite the abundance of breakable walls.

A-Tier

Castle, a remake from Call of Duty World at War is a welcome addition to the Vanguard map pool but due to being unable to spot opposition hiding amongst the balconies, we've placed it in A-tier alongside Numa Numa and Hotel Royal, two maps that suit all styles of play but don't slot into the highest tier on the list.

B-Tier

B tier is the home of maps that we consider to be average at best. Dome from World at War makes an appearance but its chaotic spawn logic is far from ideal. Shipment is plenty of fun in small doses but once you're locked into a spawn trap, the game is all but over.

As for Berlin, the map is one of the bigger offerings in the pool but the darker areas of the map can make it difficult to spot any potential targets.

C-Tier

These maps aren't anything special. If anything, they can be entertaining on the odd occasion but for most of the time, these maps are more of an annoyance due to their features. Bocage contains numerous ways to enter a building which makes it immensely difficult to keep control of a particular area while the open nature of Oasis causes players to use long-range weaponry in order to achieve any kind of success.

D-Tier

These three maps are easily the worst in the entirety of Vanguard multiplayer. The confusing layout of Sub Pens means it's very easy to lose track of an opponent while the layout of Decoy can change completely due to the sheer amount of destructible elements, changing the experience for everyone in the lobby. Unless any significant changes are made by Sledgehammer Games in future udpates, it's unlikely that these maps will climb up the list.

There you have it, that's our definitive Vanguard map tier list! As new maps are added, we will update the list to see how the additions will fare. For more Vanguard news, check out our Season 1 hub filled with everything you need to know about the upcoming season
