Cyberpunk 2077 experienced a pretty rocky start to life, but the game in its current form is as close to the sprawling technological RPG that players had originally hoped for. The game has a naturally large focus on weapons, and so we've created this handy guide that takes you through each weapon type so you can choose your loadout.
Weapon types
There are three sub-categories that every weapon will fall under, and this is ultimately going to determine the classification of the weapon.
So here are all three types and what they do:
- Power weapons - These weapons offer massive amounts of damage compared to others, and will simply obliterate your opponent.
- Tech weapons - These are essentially charged weapons that power up their shots the longer you hold them. But they can also be shot rapidly with decreased damage.
- Smart weapons - Smart weapons can only be used if you have the appropriate Ripperdoc attachment. So what this does is give the weapon aimbot during battles, as the bullets will automatically target your opponent's head and other specified body parts.
Which weapon type is the best?
Arguably the best two weapon classes are Power and Smart weapons. Power weapons offer some insane damage and can be modified to deliver some special side effects too, such as fire or electric damage. While Smart weapons can shoot around corners and aim right for the squishy parts.
Ultimately, however, it comes down to your own personal play style, which is what makes Cyberpunk 2077 so exciting to play. You can tailor your experience to your preferences, and this includes making a decision with weapon types.
