Ahead of Destiny 2's Beyond Light expansion, Bungie has finally nerfed one of the game's most frustrating weapons.
As noted in a tweet from Bungie's Community Manager @A_dmg04, "juicy tuning" is on the way for Mountaintop.

Definitely hear the feedback on looks of Adored, passing it along as necessary. Note: Might look like Beloved, but it has its own personality. There might even be some juicy tuning on the way for Mountaintop. Not to kill, but to balance.Sandbox preview next month. Stay tuned.

Originally introduced as a pinnacle weapon (now known as Ritual Weapons) all the way back in Season 5, the Mountaintop is a dream for both PvE and PvP content.
It deals so much damage that it's become the go-to for most high-level content in the game.
How the weapon hasn't been tweaked since then is anyone's guess, with seemingly every other dominant weapon falling away from the game's meta within months.
The sandbox preview refers to the nuts and bolts of how Destiny 2 plays, so it'll be interesting to see what tweaks are made to not just Mountaintop, but other weapons too.
We'd also expect some tweaks to be made to the game's subclasses as we approach the launch of Beyond Light in November, which will add the Stasis element to our repertoire.
Looking for a new weapon to chase? Be sure to grab the Traveler's Chosen, which could be ideal for PvP. Check out our guide here.
