The High Republic Era of Star Wars Is Getting More Lore

A new announcement of Star Wars Eclipse by Quantic Dream is just one of the many media outlets diving into a new Star Wars era. The High Republic received a nod in 2019 but didn't get a true mention until the next year's Rise of Kylo Ren #2 comic. Quantic Dream specializes in video games, but a TV show is also coming out about the series.

Star Wars: Acolyte is a Disney+ series announced last year and might be finished filming already. We await the trailer for this series set during the end of the High Republic.

The High Republic Lore

The High Republic occurred when Jedi were spread farther across the galaxy than they would ever be again. When Luke Skywalker speaks with Lor San Tekka in The Rise of Kylo Ren #2, they reveal just how far the warriors of the light side of the force spread.

Lor San Tekka: I just didn't realize the Jedi ever had an official presence so far from the Core.
Luke Skywalker: It's probably High Republic Era. It was a time of greatly expanded Jedi activity throughout the galaxy.

The official description of Star Wars: Acolyte combined with this description may hint at how action-packed the series will be.

"The Acolyte is a mystery-thriller that will take the audience into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark side powers in the final days of the High Republic era…".

We will likely see Jedi battles comparable to the last years of the Galactic Republic. Since Star Wars: Acolyte takes place during the last days of the High Republic, its end most likely came from a Sith vs. Jedi conflict. (Don't they always?)

We can only hope that Star Wars: Eclipse sheds some light on how things were in the High Republic. Quantic Dream is famous for setting up the temperament and the world of its stories.

Another Quantic Dream game, Detroit: Become Human, does an excellent job of showing how it's like to be an android trying to fit into a Sci-Fi human world. Even taking time to show how daily life is in that futuristic thriller.

Star Wars: Eclipse is expected to do the same.
