Next week, Tom Holland returns in red-and-blue spandex in Spider-Man: No Way Home. But things might've worked out differently for the actor, as the web-slinging star could've headed to a galaxy far, far away.
While fighting his way through spicy wings on Hot Ones, Holland reminisced over his audition for a small indie movie, Star Wars: The Force Awakens. He was up for Finn's role, but the tryout didn't really go as planned.

Spider-Man's Tom Holland Recalls His Failed Star Wars The Force Awakens Audition
Holland's audition involved a scene with a droid, but the person who stood in for the robot was really invested. It seems that the lady's commitment threw the star off course:
I just remember thinking, 'There's no way this lady's going to read the robot's lines opposite me' – just because that would be ridiculous.I don't remember what my line was, but it was [like] 'Let's get back to the Falcon!' and this lady, bless her, would sit there with full commitment and was like, 'Be-boop-be-boop.
The unusual situation caused Holland to lose all composure, as he simply couldn't stop laughing.
I remember saying, 'You're not actually going to do that, right?' and she was like, 'Well yeah, the robot's part of the scene, he's the character!' I just got the giggles, because you know when you realize you've got something so wrong? I just couldn't stop laughing.
It's hard to imagine Holland as Finn, given John Boyega's portrayal as the former Stormtrooper in the trilogy. But if Tom Holland was cast, he may not have taken the Spider-Man gig. And it's hard to imagine a world where the Friendly Neighbourhood hero isn't led by the 25-year-old.
Among his audition tale, Holland also talks about his short but impressive career, all the while trying to battle some scovilles.
We'll find out what lies ahead for the Webhead in a few days but, Morbius' Jared Leto hints that the hero's next fight might involve the Sinister Six.
