Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War: Playstation Exclusive Content Outrage

Recently, Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War announced exclusive content for PlayStation players on PS4 and PS5!

The offerings seem pretty awesome, but players on other platforms they feel sidelined by the news.

What are fans getting angry about and do they have a point?

What are the PlayStation exclusive deals?

Well, there's quite a few and they’re all outlined in a tweet from @BlackOpsCOldWar on Twitter.

Some of the more basic perks include boosted XP events, and for playing with other PlayStation players.

Though others include an exclusive Zombies mode and a bonus 5 Battle Pass level skips when you buy the 20 skip bundle!

This won’t cause too much of an imbalance, XP doesn’t make you stronger it just unlocks cosmetic perks and bonuses, but that doesn’t stop it annoying other players.

Xbox and PC fans feel a bit left out, especially with the exclusive Zombie Onslaught mode, with there no announcement of that arriving on other platforms anytime soon.

We can expect it could be at least a year before non-PS4 and PS5 players can enjoy these perks.

How Are Fans Reacting?

Posts like this one from u/BenjaminWareing over on the Call of Duty subreddit catch the mood.

PlayStation exclusive CoD content is nothing new, but players have started to feel progressively more like PS4 players are receiving the full game, and Xbox and PC players are getting a much worse title.

As u/BenjaminWareing said, it feels anti-consumer, it feels unfair.

Though we don’t yet know how this will affect the game’s sales.

It may disenfranchise Xbox and PC players from this release, or perhaps future releases should practices like this continue, but it could equally instead see players turning over to the PS4 and PS5 to enjoy their CoD.

The latter is very much the outcome Activision and Sony hope for.

So far Activision and Sony are yet to respond.

What do you think of the exclusivity? Are you a fortunate Playstation player, or a hard-done-by Xbox and PC fan?
