Neo: The World Ends With You Reveal: TWEWY Sequel Announced for Switch and PS4!

The day is finally here!

After years of wishing for a sequel, The World Ends With You fans finally have a new game to look forward to!

Neo: The World Ends With You has just been announced as a follow up to the 2007 Nintendo DS game and we couldn’t be more excited for it!

Neo: The World Ends With You - Release Date

NEO: The World Ends With You releases on July 27, 2021.

The release day is just one day over fourteen years since the original was released for the Nintendo DS on July 26, 2007.

So far the game is announced for PS4, Switch, and PC.

Not unexpected that the Japanese-centric game doesn’t feature on the Xbox Series X, and would play into a larger deal Square Enix may have with Sony after Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Final Fantasy 16 are both PlayStation exclusives.

Though it is odd that PS5 is not mentioned.

With backwards compatible, the game will work on PS5, but a dedicated version isn’t yet announced.

We suspect this may change, given that the game would arrive over half-a-year into the PS5’s life, but weirder things have happened.

It looks like much of the game’s original design remains the same.

The character art looks just as amazing as always, the music sounds just as perfectly J-Pop, and combat still seems to focus on the use of pins.

What changes this time around are that battles will be in 3D arenas, and touch controls do not seem to be playing a part.

From what we can see in the trailer, they look pretty cool, and may finally start to give TWEWY bosses the scale they always needed!

What’s also very interesting is that Shibuya and Minaminoto make a reappearance, alongside the woman we saw at the end of The World Ends WIth You Final Remix on Switch.

Exactly what it could all mean is a bit of a mystery, but we are very excited to unravel it!

We’ll update you as we learn more, and once we stop freaking out over how cool the game looks!
