After a long and arduous opening stage and elimination rounds, Counter-Strike 2 pro teams are now gearing up for the upcoming playoffs bracket in Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024.

The world's top eight CS2 teams will battle it out for a share of the tournament's $1,250,000 prize pool, with the grand champion taking home a whopping $500,000.

The playoffs will have a single-elimination bracket, making each loss as important as each win. This meant that there would be no lower bracket for losing teams to use as a crutch in reaching the grand finals and only the best of the best will get the chance to win the game's last top-tier tournament for 2024.

The following teams all have an equal chance of making it to the playoffs on December 12, 2024, with the grand finals scheduled for December 15, 2024:

  • The MongolZ
  • MOUZ
  • Team Liquid
  • Team Spirit
  • G2 Esports
  • HEROIC
  • FaZe Clan
  • Team Vitality

Winning the Counter-Strike 2 Asia-Pacific Regional Major Ranking, Team MongolZ has shown impressive performance throughout both the opening stage and elimination stage, surprising many opponents from all over the world.

Fan favorites such as G2 Esports, Team Liquid, and Team Spirit breezed through the initial stages but some teams have struggled trying to become part of the top 8.

FaZe Clan's performance isn't as stellar as they hoped it would be, being decimated by G2 Esports during Round 4 of the Elimination Stage. Fortunately, the team had enough match wins for them to snag a place in the top 8.

Now that all 8 teams are preparing for the more intense matches of the playoffs, each team is already guaranteed to take home at least $45,000. Both 3rd and 4th placed teams will receive $80,000, while the 2nd placer will receive $170,000.

Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 is Valve's last premiere tournament for 2024 and will be followed by BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 in June next year.
