A Quick Refresher About How To Get Eevee

Early on in Pokemon Sword and Shield, you will eventually have to leave the starting towns and progress towards the next town to battle with the first gym leader in the Galar region.

At the next train station, which is located in the Wild Zone area, there are two NPCs a girl and a boy next to the door.

Talking to the boy will grant you Eevee if you have played Pokemon Let's Go Eevee at all. Talking to the girl with the blonde hair will grant you Pikachu if you have played Let's Go Pikachu.

How To Get Umbreon, Espeon And Sylveon

In order to evolve Eevee, you will need to max our their friendship ratings. One may ask: how do I do this?

This has been a misconception between fans, as there a few ways that players are able to level up their friendship LVL with their Eevee.

  • XP candy from Raids-which is the new battles that can be found at certain stations in the Wild Area.
  • Rare Candy's
  • Battling with Eevee
  • Catching Pokemon with Eevee

One tip is to make sure Eevee does not pass out during battle, letting this happen will demolish your chances of leveling up its friendship.

Evolving It

Once you think you have Eevee's friendship level high enough, the key to getting Umbreon is to level Eevee up during the night time.

Doing so in the day time will evolve it in Espeon. To obtain Sylveon, you will need your Eevee to learn a fairy-type move (Eevee learns the move Baby-Doll Eyes early on).
