Wraith Nerf Coming Season 8 Apex Legends?

Wraith is an absolutely dominant force in Apex Legends, and has been for a while.

She is consistently in the game’s top tier list, even despite some pretty major nerfs over her life.

Despite this, Respawn still has hopes to bring the voidwalker “under control” according to their recent comments.

Though we may have to wait a little bit longer before they are introduced!

Here’s everything we know about the Wraith Nerf that may be coming in Season 8.

Season 8 Wraith Nerf Incoming?

The comments were made by Daniel Klein in an interview with the Third Party podcast.

The Senior Game Designer said that they want to bring her “under control” but are working on the best way to do this still.

At first he jokingly brought up removing Wraith entirely, but quickly moved onto more legitimate fixes.

One such option could be tweaking her hit boxes, “With Wraith, our approach is going to be very similar to Pathfinder.”

“We’re going to take a look at her hitboxes and see how much wiggle room we have there. With Pathfinder, it turned out that we had so much… that was a 20% increase in hitbox size.”

The reason Klein and the team want to tackle Wraith hitboxes is they are afraid to change her abilities any more than they already have.

“We’ve pushed [her abilities] to the breaking point where it’s barely still fun. But the extremely wind-up on her tactical, as much as it was necessary, it puts the ability more into the camp of cerebral power rather than satisfying in the moment power.”

This certainly makes a lot of sense, as even post-nerf Respawn want Wraith and all Legends to keep being fun to play!

So looking at these more outside the box options like tweaking hitboxes, is an interesting solution to bring Legends in line!
