FIFA 20 Available On Steam - EA Access And EA Games Arrive On Steam Under New EA And Valve Partnership

FIFA 20 will be available on Steam, thanks to a new EA and Valve partnership that sees EA Games return to Steam. EA's stand-alone game launcher 'Origin' seems to be less of a priority for EA, as they now turn their focus back to the home of PC games.

EA Access Arrives On Steam

Starting on the 15th November, EA Access along with other EA titles, will debut on Steam - this begins with Star Wars Jedi: The Fallen Order; you can pre-order this today. Players will also be able to play games such as The Sims 4 and Unravel Two.

Multiplayer games such as FIFA 20, Apex Legends and Battlefield V will not become available until next year, but players on Origin and Steam will be able to play together.

EA took the ambitious approach to match Valve's service Steam back in 2011 and within 2 years amassed over 50 million registered users. EA possess some of the most iconic PC games on the market and you must assume that they are not worried about pushing people to their platform any longer and would rather capitalise on sales that are not being made; perhaps due to community stubbornness in moving away from Steam. It certainly makes life easier for the player transitioning from game to game with friends rather than from launcher to launcher. Call it a hunch, but I can imagine there will be exclusives and special offers on Origin to persuade players to buy games on Origin.

The reasoning remains unclear on whether this was a strategic move from EA or Valve itself. Perhaps the two met somewhere in the middle? Either way, more news and information will come in the next few weeks, so be sure to check back regularly to get the latest gossip.
