David Villa - 90 ST

Kickstarting our Spanish icon wishlist, we have one of Spain’s most prolific goalscorers, with David Villa. Ranked as the leading all-time goalscorer for the Spanish national team, with 59 goals in 98 matches, Villa could score with either foot, being regarded as a very quick, agile centre forward.

David Villa would likely arrive in FIFA 21 with 5* Weak Foot and 4* Skill Moves, and with his shorter build and rocket of a shot, would be a perfect striker to be inducted into the FIFA icon class of 21.

Xabi Alonso - 91 CDM

Top Teams: Liverpool, Real Madrid, Bayern MunichCareer Apps: 815Career Goals: 59Top Club Honours: 1x La Liga, 1x Copa Del Rey, 1x FA Cup, 3x Bundesliga, 1x DFB Pokal, 2x Champions League, 2x UEFA Super CupInternational Honours: 1x World Cup, 2x European Champion

One of Spain’s greatest, most decorated players of the last couple of decades, Xabi Alonso is the epitome of a complete midfielder. Being able to excel in a deeper playmaking role thanks to his exquisite passing range, as well as having a powerful long ranged shot and top set piece taking ability, Xabi Alonso excelled across Europe, winning a host of trophies.

Should he be included in the list of new icons for FIFA 21, Alonso would be a widely popular card, making it into a host of top-level past and present teams!

Fernando Torres - 91 ST

Top Teams: Atletico Madrid, Liverpool, ChelseaCareer Apps: 844Career Goals: 304Top Club Honours: 1x FA Cup, 2x Europa League, 1x Champions LeagueInternational Honours: 1x World Cup, 2x European Champion

Another top Spanish striker, and a true Premier League great from the last decade, Fernando Torres is more than deserving of an icon card in FUT 21.

Known especially for his time at Liverpool, in which he was named in the 2008 and 2009 FIFA World XI, the Spaniard also broke the British record transfer fee in 2011 when transferred to Chelsea, winning the FA Cup and Champions League.

Francisco Gento - 93 LW

Top Teams: Real MadridCareer Apps: 495Career Goals: 143Top Club Honours: 12x La Liga, 2x Spanish Cup, 6x Champions League, 1x Intercontinental CupInternational Honours: -

In the late 1950s and early 1960s, Francisco Gento was a part of arguably one of the best-attacking lines the footballing world has ever seen, alongside Alfredo Di Stefano and Ferenc Puskas. Known for his blistering pace and pinpoint crossing and overall passing range, the winger is regarded as one of the best left-sided players to have played the game.

We’d love to see Gento added into FUT alongside Di Stefano and Puskas to flashback to the 1960s glory days in which he won a staggering 12 La Liga titles.

Iker Casillas - 93 GK

Top Teams: Real Madrid, PortoCareer Apps: 1148Career Clean Sheets: 442Top Club Honours: 5xLa Liga, 2x Spanish Cup, 4x Copa Del Rey, 3x Champions League, 2x Intercontinental Cup, 1x Club World Cup, 2x UEFA Super CupInternational Honours: 1x World Cup, 2x European Champion

Having confirmed to be retiring at the end of the season, Iker Casillas may be set for an icon card in FIFA 21, and will easily be one of the highest-rated GKs. Known for his tenure at Real Madrid, which saw him win countless trophies, Saint Iker is considered by some to be the best goalkeeper of all time, thanks to his unmatched shot-stopping ability and leadership qualities for his sides.

Xavi - 94 CM

Top Teams: BarcelonaCareer Apps: 1042Career Goals: 134Top Club Honours: 8x La Liga, 3x Spanish Cup, 8x Copa Del Rey, 4x Champions League, 2x Club World Cup, 2x UEFA SupercupInternational Honours: 1x World Cup, 2x European Champion

Easily one of the most technically gifted midfielders the game has ever seen, Xavi has to be included as an icon in the future. While being short in stature, Xavi is the face of the tiki-taka style of play, being a part of a generation of Barcelona talent that many consider being the greatest team in the history of football.

Xavi would easily be one of the best passers in FUT, and with his crisp dribbling, set-pieces and decent shooting would be a real asset to any side in FUT 21.
