Before the New Year rolled around, Fortnite announced that all FNCS events for 2021 would consist of the Trios game mode.
While these are going to be the main form of competition of the calendar year, there are plenty of other ways to get involved.
Here are all the events we know of for 2021!
FNCS
As noted above, FNCS for the entirely of 2021 will be the Trios game mode and will run each season until 2022 hits.
This comes off a cycle of fluctuating game modes during the 2020 season, and it appears Epic has finally chosen a game mode of choice.
In a new blog post, Epic has confirmed that the Chapter 2 Season 5 FNCS will begin on February 4th, 2021!
As a reminder, FNCS will start on February 4. We’ll have another communication in a couple weeks with more details for this season’s FNCS.
Dreamhack
Besides the main FNCS events, the other form of competition that players have been checking out is the monthly events constructed by Dreamhack.
During the Summer and Fall months, these events only consisted of the Solo game mode, and now they have moved to Duos in recent months.
The next dates for Dreamhack Duos are January 24-31!
Other Events
Announced via this blog post, Epic has noted various smaller events players will be able to partake in:
- MONDAYS ARE MONEY: BATTLE ROYALE CASH CUPS - Using a similar model as the Contender Cash Cups from previous seasons, Battle Royale Cash Cups will be cross-platform with cash prizes up for grabs for those ranked in Champion League in Arena. Also focusing on Trios, these Monday tournaments are scheduled to start on January 11 and run every other week throughout the season.
- FRIDAY NITE BRAGGING RIGHTS - In the new year, we’ll be hosting regional Friday Nite Bragging Rights tournaments. Split by platform (mobile, PC, console), and starting January 8, we plan to run these most Fridays throughout the season. Winners will get special shouts from @FNCompetitive each week. Form your Trio and get ready!
- LTM TOURNAMENTS - LTM tournaments will work like Wild Wednesday’s from last season. We plan to have a mixture of modes and formats throughout the season, and these, too, will normally land on alternating Mondays. We will share the format and mode of each LTM Tournament ahead of time on @FNCompetitive, so be sure to follow us. Cash prizes will also be awarded to the top finishers in each region.
Be sure to let us know what events you are looking forward too!
