The Dead by Daylight development team recently shared an intriguing survey hinting at new gameplay mode additions. In the survey, players are asked for their opinion on the possibility of several prospective game modes such as Swapped Perspective, the highly anticipated 2v8 party mode, and Zombie tag, which may well and truly shake things up for the now seven-year-old title.

As first highlighted by Eurogamer, the survey shared by the Dead by Daylight X (formerly Twitter) account is still open for anyone who wants to participate. The best part is the later section, which tackles diverse gameplay experiences, indicating an introduction of exciting new game modes in the future.

Some intriguing options have been included in the survey that may give the Dead by Daylight player base something to get excited about other than the introduction of new killers. Included in these options are Swapped Perspective, where killers will adopt a third-person view while the survivors will play with a first-person camera, as well as 2v8 party mode, which features a face-off between two killers and eight survivors while removing the hooks to add more suspense. Additionally, the potential inclusion of Zombie tag promises a blend of terror and humour as players contend with the undead transformation of fallen survivors.

Aside from gathering feedback on the possible new game modes, the developers are also attentive to the gameplay balance. The survey also included various questions regarding the matchmaking experience and evaluated the success of the latest inclusion to the 33-strong list of killers, Chucky. entertainment and effectiveness of the latest Dead by Daylight perk, Chucky's Killer.

The inclusion of this player satisfaction survey may be the beginning of a new era for the long-standing franchise, as Behaviour Interactive continue to find ways to retain and reward its loyal fan base. Adding some diversity in game modes, particularly if a party mode is added, will really shake things up for horror enthusiasts.

If you're unfamiliar with the game, Dead by Daylight is an asymmetrical killer-vs-survivors multiplayer game released in 2016. A standard match features five players, with one player among them playing as the killer on the hunt for the four survivors, who look to escape the map before they're caught. With more potential game modes on the way, Dead by Daylight continues to give us a reason to keep an eye on the game.
